I took this photo in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood near South Canalport Avenue and West Cermak Road. The privately owned and operated shortline Central Illinois Railroad, was holding a special "Open House" public relations event for railfan photographers. Seen here is Central Illinois Railroad # 1206, wich was just repainted in to the 1950's era color scheme of predecessor railroad Chicago, Burlington & Quincy. The old C,B & Q had switched this industrial railroad line prior to 1970, with various EMD switcher locomotives in this particular color scheme.
