I took this photo during My lunchbreak one morning, in late July of 2009.
We are looking west on Techny Road in north suburban Northbrook Illinois. Techny Road is a very busy junction point on the Metra /Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road "North Line". It is here where southbound freight traffic branches off of the mainline, and enters the interchange leading to the fly over junction of the Union Pacific's former Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad freight only cut off line near Techny Illinois. This train is viewed on the interchange freight connection tracks.
