Although it was raining lightly on and off that day, the weather did not dampen the spirits of local Chicago area railfans who came to see and photograph this visiting west coast steam locomotive. Parked immediately adjacent to Franklin Parks preserved historic Tower B-12, Southern Pacific 4-8-4 type steam locomotive #4449 was a welcome sight here in steam starved Chicago. The orange SP Daylight color scheme...added color to an otherwise gray and overcast day.
