I took this photo at the Thatcher Avenue railroad crossing in near northwest suburban River Grove Illinois. Seen here traveling aboard an eastbound Canadian Pacific transfer freight train, is an old 1970's era covered hopper from the BNSF Railway's predecessor railroad Burlington Northern. I love the opportunity to photograph these relics from fallen flag railroads that are still rolling around many years after the fact.
