Waiting in the passing sideing. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois. Friday, July 3rd 2009.

One of My favorite features about the Illinois Railway Museum, is that it is an actual operating museum. Multiple vintage operating trains operate on the museum's demonstration mainline. Standard railroad dispatching and signaling procedures prevail ensuring safety and efficientcy.

To the right is Illinois Terminal Railroad lightweight center entrance interurban car # 101 waiting in the passing siding, as the eastbound two car wooden interurban train from the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin Railroad approach and pass us by.
