I spent this very suny Sunday afternoon in December of 1990 railfanning at Argo unction and tower, in southwest suburban Summit Illinois. Seen here is an eastbound Amtrak regional passenger train racing to Chicago Union Station over the Illinois Central ex Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad mainlne. The train had just passed through the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad crosstracks at Argo Junction, and will soon pass underneath the South Harlem Avenue overpass bridge.
