Preserved 1980 GMC RTS model transit bus from Janesville Wisconsin. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois. Friday, July 3rd 2009.

Hello everyone!
Welcome aboard the " Bus Day" edition of Eddie's Railfan Page.

I took this photo inside the bus barn at the Illinois Railway Museum.
General Motors Corporation had introduced the stylish and quiete spartan RTS model transit bus during the late 1970's. This model of transit bus had replaced the old fishbowl windshield TDH series transit buses that were introduced in 1959. The GMC fishbowl windshield buses, worked on may different transit companys in the United States and Canada for many years, until retirements started taking place during the 1990's.
