Illinois Terminal Railroad car # 415. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois USA. July 1989.

My good friend Ed Moravec took this photograph on a July 1989 visit to the Illinois Railway Museum. This electric suburban streetcar ran in suburban service between St.Louis Missouri and Granite City Illinois, until June of 1958. This electric streetcar is seen rounding the east end of the museum's demonstration trolley loop. The twin parralel overhead trolley wire curving over car # 415, is for the museums collection of Electric Trolley Buses that operate on the demonstration service road. This was a gravel road then, but is now paved with high grade Asphalt in 2006. This car has high back leather reversible seats -high speed trucks -a railroad style single chime air horn -plus a streetcar bell for street running in Granite City Illinois USA. Clang Clang!
