I found this delightfully "Rare" photograph on the internet recently.
Seen here on a wonderful railfan internet site known as www.fallenflags.org, is this unique vintage black and white photo taken in the year of 1970.
This GTW EMD model SW 1200 yard switcher locomotive, was photographed looking north at the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, Elsdon Yard locomotive termimal. The locomotive terminal and ready tracks, were located just west of the 1914 built steam era roundhouse. The roundhouse was located at approximately West 49th Street and South Kedzie Avenue.
This locomotive is still wearing the 1950's era olive green and gold color scheme, wich was inherited from the parent company Canadian National Railroad.
