Switching activity at the Indiana Harbor Belt RR Argo Yard. Summit Illinois. January 2007.

I took this photo on a typical overcast Winter morback in January of 2007.

Just as they did early on back in the steam era, freight trains have indeed become longer and heavier. These two Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad EMD roadswitchers in the 2005 orange color scheme, are putting a lot of muscle in to it as they pull a large cut of freight cars east of Argo Yard during a heavy switching manuever.
