One of My all time favorite Chicago area railfan photo haunts I frequently enjoyed visiting during the 1980's, was the west suburban villahe of La Grange Illinois.
I took this photo during a January 1987 visit. We are facing east just below the Burlington Northern flyover bridge over the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad line, at a location known as Congress Park. A northbound transfer freight train with EMD locomotives from railroads Grand Trunk Western and the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad, pass through town.
