Westbound Norfolk Southern freight train departing from Cragin Junction. Chicago Illinois. July 2007.





I took this photo back in July of 2007.

We are on the westbound platform of the Metra Grand / Cicero Avenue commuter rail station in Chicago's Cragin neighborhood.

With a clear westbound mainline and a proceed order from the dispatcher, a westbound Norfolk Southern freight train is viewed departing from nearby Cragin Junction.

This train left the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks at Cragin Junction, and is now proceeding westbound over the Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road mainline. A former Conrail locomotive is in the locomotive consist today.
