The corner of West Montrose and North Milwaukee Avenues in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. Chicago Illinois USA. February 2011.

I took this photo last Saturday, just before sunset.

Before the days of small retailstrip malls with small front parking lots
along the main streets in Chicago's neighborhood business districts came along, large 3 to 4 story storefront buildings with upstairs apartments and offices, had once dominated the urban landscape in Chicago Illinois.

One of Chicago's older neighborhoods that still features large storefront office / apartment buildings, is the Jefferson Park neighborhood on the northwest side of the city. This large street corner building with storefronts and everything else, is located on West Montrose Avenue, on the southeast corner of North Milwaukee Avenue. This old building from the early 1900's era, has stood the test of time.
