Hello everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.
Architectuarally speaking, there is nothing like classic northside Chicago Illinois and the many crowded commercial districts and storefronts from a forgotten era, still alive and well today.
I took this photo looking up around sunset one late Winter afternoon, on Saturday, February 5th, 2011. We are facing southeast at the intersection of North Milwaukee and west montrose Avenues, in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. The beautiful and classic commercial storefront buildings from the early 1900's era, still line this busy commercial thoroughfare today on the northwest side of the city of Chicago Illinois.
However, there has been a recent change though along the streets. The city of Chicago in recent years, installed these very classic looking early 1900's style overhead streetlights, giving this commercial district a very "Retro" look to it.
Thanks.
Eddie K.
