The Oak Park Society Of Model Engineers H.O Scale model railroad club.Oak Park Illinois USA. February 2011.

Growing up on the near southwest side of the city of Chicago Illinois like I did during the 1960's and 70's era, one railroad that was inded an all time favorite of mine....was the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad.

One of My favorite color schemes the Santa Fe had utilized on their freight locomotives prior to the introduction of the "Yellowbonnet" color scheme in 1972, was the dark blue with yellow ends and letters color scheme. This color scheme was introduced in the year of 1960.

My Athearn H.O Scale model of an EMD GP 35 roadswitcher seen here, is painted in the 1960's era Santa Fe freight color scheme I fondly remember.

Long freight trains would arrive and depart daily from the Santa Fe's Corwith Yard in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood, behind multiple unit consists of these engines in this color scheme.
