Central Illinois Railroad. Chicago IL. Oct 2008.

I photographed this digital live sound video, on Friday, October 31st 2008.

The occasion was a "Rare" public relations open house event being held by the
local Chicago industrial shortline railroad known as the Central Illinois Railroad.
The railroad had just repainted their former Belt Railway of Chicago 1950's era EMD SW 1200 yard switcher locomotive # 1206, in to a 1950's era Chicago,Burlington & Quincy black and gray "Heritage" color scheme. The C,B & Q switched this line prior to 1970.

Locomotive # 1206, is viewed pulling a boxcar from an industrial siding, and towing it across West Cermak Road in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood.

In July of 2010, after experiencing continuous and unprofitable low traffic on line, the Central Illinois Railroad terminated their lease of the line from the owner railroad BNSF Railway, and left their Chicago switching railroad operations for good.

It was nice while it lasted.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
