One of the nicer local Chicago area tourist attractions I visited during My September 2010 vacation, was the Chicago Botanic Garden in north suburban Glencoe Illinois.
Aside from the many lovely varieties of flowers, trees, plant life and resident wildlife on the property, the Chicago Botanic Garden even has this wonderful outdoor G Scale garden railroad display, featuring several demonstration outdoor model train layouts.
The Santa Fe Super Chief passenger train from pre Amtrak times, is viewed passing through one of the garden areas.
