Silent digital video: The Kiddieland Limited departing the station. Kiddieland Amusement Park. Melrose Park Illinois. June 2007.

I photographed this now historic silent digital video with My old camera after work one evening, back in June of 2007.

It is early in the operating season for what was the Kiddieland Amusement Park in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois, as indicated by the light passenger loadings aboard the Kiddieland Limited gasoline powered streamliner passenger train. Local schools were still in session, and would soon be closing for summer vacation.

Week night patronage had a tendency to be rather light at the begining of the summer season of any given year.

Chicago's Kiddieland Amusement Park, existed at the location of North and First Avenues in Melrose Park Illinois from 1928, until the park closed in 2009, and was eventually demolished. Today, a large Costco store occupies the old Kiddieland Amusement Park site.
