Saint Clair of Montifalco Catholic Parish annual summer carnival. Chicago Illinois. June 1987.

Summer Carnival season once again, is now starting up in the greater Chicagoland area.

That wonderful period from May to August of any given year, would bring bright lights, entertainment, carnival midways with portable rides, and plenty of noise to otherwise quiet Chicago neighborhoods.

During the 1980's, attending these was one of My personal favorites amongst the many outdoor Summertime activities.

I took this photograph way back in June of 1987, at the Saint Clair of Montifalco Catholic Church Parish in Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood.

This carnival back in the day, was one of the ones not to miss on Your list of neighborhood Summer carnivals to visit.

Aside from the local Rock and Roll, Pop, Country and Western and Dance music bands that would appear at this annual event, the Gage Park neighborhood still had a good number of southside Chicago residents of polish etnic extraction, and a local Polish Polka Music band of some sort, was a must have at this neighborhood carnival during the 1980's era.

Ah yes, fun Summertime memories from the southwest side of Chicago.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
