Preserved interlocking tower from Spaulding Illinois. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois. July 1996.

I took this photograph during a July 1996 visit to the Illinois Railway Museum, located in the town of Union Illinois. www.irm.org

Two electric interurban coaches from the former Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad, are viewed approaching Spaulding Tower and a vintage Wig Wag signal enroute to the museum's East Union depot.

Scenes like this at the Illinois Railway Museum, help to capture the look and feel of electric powered interurban railroading from the past.
