The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. August 2011.

I was 14 years old back in 1976, and have happy memories of the American Bicentenial era back in the mid 1970's.

Begining around 1974, transportation companies like railroads and trucking companies, would begin painting some of their locomotives, cabooses and vehicles on their fleets, in special patriotic color schemes honoring America's upcoming 200th Birthday celebration on July 4th, 1976.

In some towns and citties across the nation, transit buses would sometimes recieve special commemorative patriotic color schemes as well.

I painted this American Precision Scale Models H.O Scale kit for a 1950's era General Motors TDH Series 40 foot "Old Look" transit bus, in 1976 era American Bi Centenial colors and markings to capture the look and feel of the mid 1970's era.

Thanks.
