I took this photograph last year, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.
Seen here is My Athearn model, of an Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad cupola caboose.
The prototype Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe, began rebuilding their fleet of cabooses at their Cleburne Texas shop facility in 1966. The rebuilt cabooses, featured cushion underframes, fewer side windows that were now sealed, air conditioning, a bright Vermillion red color scheme with a large circular "Santa Fe" logo, and other improvements.
My model, represents a pre 1966 era unrebuilt stock Santa Fe caboose, wearing the original and very plain Boxcar Red / Oxide Brown color scheme with simple A,T,S,F white markings on the sides.
