A former Grand Trunk Western locomotive pulling two tank cars to the CN Crawford Yard.at sunset. Chicago Illinois. February 2007.

I took this photograph one bitterly cold and windy winter evening, back in February of 2007.

I was hanging out after work for a short period, at a location known as Hawthorne Junction at the Chicago city limits at the border of Cicero Illinois, just around sunset.

An eastbound two car train of tank cars being pulled by a former Grand Trunk Western Railroad EMD roadswitcher, has just departed from the nearby Canadian National ex Illinois Central Hawthorne Yard in adjacent Cicero Illinois. The train is viewed heading in to the former Illinois Central / Chicago & Illinois Western Crawford Yard at sunset time.

It was a bitterly cold 8 degrees above zero and falling fast, with a sharp wind blowing out of the west when I took this photograph.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
