Wintertime in Elmwood Park Illinois. January 2009.

Wintertime in Elmwood Park Illinois. January 2009.

Hi friends!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page.
The Greater Chicagoland Area, has been dealing with severe Winter
weather conditions in 2009. Chicago and the nearby surrounding local
communities, have had to put up with bitterly cold single digit, or low
double digit temperatures, as well as heavy Lake Effect snowstorms and ice.

I took this photo one morning in January of 2009, in near northwest suburban
Elmwood Park Illinois. This fire hydrant, is located on North 76th Court, just
south of the intersection of Wellington Street. This is a typical image of the
Chicago Winter of 2009, and can be seen daily in any Chicago neighborhood or
suburban community. This makes for challenging conditions for the many crews of
the local Fire Departments when fighting fires, as sometimes these hydrants freeze
and have to be quickly thawed out somehow with a blow torch sometimes. Conditions
like this can sometimes cause water main breaks under the streets as well.

Hi Eddie!
Nice fire hydrant photo.
Do you wanna get together some time at the Mexican restaurant? I have some things for you and for Janine to drop off with you.
Let me know.
Thanks,

Jose
