Preserved 1908 Chicago Surface Lines electric streetcar # 144. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois USA. August 2006.
I took this photo during an August 2006 visit to the Illinois Railway Museum.
Chicago Surface Lines car # 144, was built by the Pulman Standard Car Company of Chicago in the year of 1908. It worked in daily transit service after the 1947 creation of the Chicago Transit Authorityuntil May of 1954. It was kept on the
CTA roster for chartered fantrips, until the end of Chicago Streetcar operations
on June 21st, 1958.
