Hi everyone!
welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page.

I took this photo on a very bitterly cold Friday, January 30th, 2009 in north suburban Skokie Illinois. An eastbound Chicago Transit Authority "Skokie Swift" rapid transit train has just cleared the railroad crossing on Kostner Avenue, and traffic has now begun to move again. Chicago's Winter of 2009, was especially tough during the Month of January. With single digit temperatures and heavy Lake Effect snowstorm accumulations on the ground, this crew from the Village of Skokie Illinois Department of Streets and Alleys has plenty of work to do, even on sunny days. Their small but very practical dump truck shown here with a snowplow attactched, is seen heading southbound on Kostner Avenue. It was a very bitterly cold 13 Degrees above zero Farenheight that afternoon. Still, the city crew keeps on plowing ahead through it all.

Thank You Village of Skokie Illinois for a job well done under frequently adverse conditions during the Winter of 2009.

Eddie K.
