I took this photo on a January morning two years ago, in northwest suburban Schiller Park Illinois. Although the Wisconsin Central was bought out and acquired through merger in recent year by the Canadian National Railroad, sometimes it takes a good while before everything gets painted over or retired from a roster after the fact.
(Thank Goodness.) I spotted this former Wisconsin Central EMD roadswitcher idling in the Canadian National owned ex Wisconsin Central / Soo Line yard idling on a sunny but cold Winter morning in 2007.
