On Sunday, September 27th 2009, an era in Chicagoland family style entertainment had officialy came to a close. After 81 years in operation, Chicago's Kiddieland Amusement Park in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois was closing for good after the land owners refused to renew the park's lease.
I took this photo on the last day. The Kiddieland Limited steam train, is viewed slowly rounding the southwest curve on the miniature railroad as it approaches the boarding station.
