Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee interurban railroad logo on a preserved Silverliner M.U car. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois. Friday, July 3rd 2009.

I took this photo inside one of the many display barns, at the Illinois Railway Museum. A fair amount of equipment from the defunct Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad, has found it's way to the Illinois Railway Museum for preservation.

Seen here is the North Shore Lines corporate logo, on the side of one of their modernized "Silverliner" electric interurban multiple unit cars. That is not currogated siding You see, but rather a very unique paint job with a shadowing effect. The financially ill Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad, introduced the Silverliner paint scheme in the year of 1950. Several of their original 1920's era round roof interurban coaches recieved this paint scheme, and new interior furnishings as well. It was low budget, but very resourceful and effective.
