Irv's Golf Range on South Cicero Avenue at approximately West 70th Street. ( Gone.) Bedford Park Illinois USA. July 1986.
Hi everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois.
I took this photo in July of 1986. From the early 1970's until the place closed in 1992, an all time favorite Chicago area southside family operated amusement place of mine, was Irv's Golf Range in southwest suburban Bedford Park Illinois. Located at the southwest corner of the South Cicero Avenue overpass bridge that spanned the massive Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard, this quaint establishment featured a golf driving range, a miniature golf course, batting cages, and a pinball and video arcade room.
I enjoyed coming here with My family on summer evenings around sunset.
Today, this is the site of a Walmart store.

The major championships are the four most prestigious men's tournaments of the year. In chronological order they are: The Masters, the U.S. Open, The Open Championship (referred to in North America as the British Open) and the PGA Championship.
The fields for these events include the top several dozen golfers from all over the world. The Masters has been played at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia since its inception in 1934.
It is the only major championship that is played at the same course each year. The U.S. Open and PGA Championship are played at courses around the United States, while The Open Championship is played at courses in the UK.
Prior to the advent of the PGA Championship and The Masters, the four Majors were the U.S. Open, the U.S. Amateur, the Open Championship, and the British Amateur.
