In the earlier part of the 20th Century, many citties and outlying ( Sometimes Rural)
small towns and communities, were served by electric interurban railroads.
This lightweight interurban car built to modified city streetcar design, was used in suburban streetcar service in later years between Granite City Illinois, and Saint Louis Missouri. After the end of service in 1958, it eventually became part of the operating collection at the Illinois Railway Museum. This view shows how it was like traveling on board this lightweight interurban trolley car.
