Belt Railway of Chicago Alco Century series roadswitchers idling at Clearing Yard. Bedford Park Illinois. March 1985.

I took this photo on a cold and damp late winter morning in early March of 1985.

Seen here at the Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard facility in southwest suburban Bedford Park Illinois, are two 1960's era American Locomotive Company (ALCO) Century Series C-425 heavy roadswitchers with a caboose coupled on idling between assignments. These locomotives were used by the Belt Railway of Chicago until retirement in the year of 1999.
