I took this photo during an overcast February 1985 visit to west suburban La Grange Illinois.

During the 1980's, I made many a commute by suburban RTA / early Pace buses, Burlington Northern / early Metra commuter trains and later in the decade by Bicycle to one of My all time favorite lineside train watching locations in the greater Chicagoland area, known as La Grange Illinois.

I spent many an hour trackside during the 1980's, photographing or waiting for trains on the very busy (Sometimes.) Burlington Northern Railroad 3 track Chicago to Aurora Illinois comuter mainline.

Seen here is a westbound Burlington Northern freight train, passing the Hillgrove Avenue side of the La Grange Road Metra / Amtrak passenger train station.
