Hi everyone!
This is Eddie K, Your host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.
On Saturday, November 5th, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, I will be hosting a local railfan photo slideshow at the Franklin Park Public Library. The library is located at 10311 West Grand Avenue, in near northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois.
The theme of My presentation, will focus on "Riding the CTA rapid transit during the 1950's and 60's in Chicago."
As part of the presentation, I will be showing a DVD video entitled, "The CTA el and other electrics", wich features several local Chicago area silent railfan home movies of the various Chicago Transit Authority elevated and subway rapid transit lines, photographed in color during the 1950's and 60's era.
Also seen, are runbys from the Chicago, Aurora And Elgin, and the Chicago, North Shore And Milwaukee electric interurban trains, that also shared the CTA elevated right of way to and from downtown Chicago Illinois.
Do You remember...the long gone Garfield Park Elevated on the west side of Chicago?
How aboutthe Lake Street Elevated line at grade leval with crossing gates, in west suburban Oak Park Illinois?
Admissionis free.
This will be a fun event, and We hope to see You there.
Thanks.
Eddie K.
