I found this historic southwest side Chicago bus photograph at My Link page "Northern California Bus Fans", located to the right of Your computer screen at www.norcalbusfans.com
This photo was taken in October of 1946.
We are on the east side of South Cicero Avenue at West 61st Street. A northbound Chicago Surface Lines gasoline powered White transit bus, is viewed picking up passengers across the street from Chicago's Midway Airport.
A 1944 White bus from the CSL like the one shown here, is preserved and operated today at The Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois. www.irm.org
The current Chicago Transit Authority, was still a year away, and would officially begin operations of the former CSL on November 1st, 1947.
