Milwaukee Road Baldwin S-12 switcher in St Paul Minnesota. 1968.

I spotted this historic photo from the Milwaukee Road recently, at My Link page Fallen Flags.Org, located to the right of Your computer screen at www.rr-fallenflags.org
(It's a really wonderful historic railfan photo website!)

The Milwaukee Road, was one of many North American railroads that were in a big hurry to retire and scrap their fleet of steam locomotives, and replace them with diesels after World War 2 had ended in 1945.

This diesel electric yard switcher locomotive from the long defunct Baldwin Locomotive Works, is viewed working in a freight yard at St.Paul Minnesota in 1968.
