Eastbound Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe transfer train. ChicagoIllinois. September 1988.

I took this photo way back in September of 1988.

An eastbound Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad transfer train, passes the South Austin Avenue railroad crossing at West 60th Street in Chicago's Clearing neighborhood.

The train is traveling over the Belt Railway of Chicago trackage near Midway Airport. The former A,T & S,F was still using cabooses on some transfer freight trains yet back in 1988.

Eddie,

Is the gravel road you are standing on to take the picture where the old IHB Stockyards tracks were? If so, they must have literally just been taken up in 1988, right?
