Coming soon to the Franklin Park Public Library! "Riding The CTA RapidTransit During The 1950's And 60's!" Saturday, November 5th! Hosted byEddie K, From the popular internet site "Eddie's Railfan Page!"http://eddiesrailroad.blogspot.com

The Franklin Park Public Library, located at 10311 West Grand Avenue in near northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois, welcomes local Chicago historian and railfan photographer Eddie K from the popular Chicago based internet transportation site "Eddie's Railfan Page" http://eddiesrailroad.blogspot.com to the library on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Eddie will be hosting a local railfan photo slideshow at the library, featuring a theme about riding the Chicago Transit Authority's elevated and subway rapid transit lines, during the 1950's and 60's in Chicago.

A special DVD video entitled "The CTA El and other electrics" will be shown, wich features several local Chicago area silent railfan home movies photographed on various CTA rapid transit lines during the 1950's and 60's era.

Do You remember the long gone Garfield Park elevated line on the west side of Chicago? How about the old Ravenswood elevated line?

This video also features footage of the electric powered interurban trains of the long gone Chicago, North Shore And Milwaukee and the Chicago, Aurora And Elgin Railroads, wich shared the CTA elevated right of way to and from downtown Chicago Illinois.

This will be a fun event, and We hope to see You there.

Thanks.
Eddie K./p>
