Coming soon to the Franklin Park Public Library! "Riding the CTA rapid transit during the 1950's and 60's"! Saturday, November 5th 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM! Hosted by Eddie K from "Eddie's Railfan Page"! http://eddiesrailroad.blogspot.com

Hi everyone!

This is Eddie K, Your host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.

On Saturday, November 5th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM...I will be hosting a local railfan photo slideshow, at the Franklin Park Public Library. The library is located at 10311 West Grand Avenue, in near northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois USA. Admission is free.

The theme of My presentation, wil be about riding the Chicago Transit Authority's rapid transit lines in Chicago, during the 1950's and 60's era.

I will be showing an historic DVD video entitled "The CTA EL And Other Electrics", wich features several color silent local Chicago area railfan home movies, taken during this period.

Do You remember...the CTA Lake Street Elevated line at ground leval with crossing gates, in west suburban Oak Park Illinois? How about the original CTA Skokie Swift, featuring cars with "Pan Trolleys" in Skokie? Or how about...the long gone Garfield Park Elevated Line on Chicago's west side?

Aside from the outstanding and historic film footage of these lines...there are also scenes of the Chicago, Aurora And Elgin RR as well as the Chicago, North Shore And Milwaukee, wich shared the CTA elevated lines entering and departing downtown Chicago Illinois.

This will be a fun event, and We hope to se You there.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
