Early BNSF Railway freight train circa 1996 in H.O scale.

I photographed this digital live sound video last week Wednsday night, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

The Burlington Northern and the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railrads had merged in December of 1995, and became today's BNSF Railway.

The early days of the BNSF Railway, are captured by fellow club member Rich, with His DCC modified Walther's Trainline Series rebuilt EMD GP locomotives, pulling this long transfer train on the club layout.

Although the BNSF pretty much does not use cabooses on many of their trains these days, the silver caboose in 1960's era Chicago, Burlington & Quicy colors and markings, and the old brown steam era Santa Fe caboose on the rear, help to simulate a pair of antique retired railroad cabooses, that are possibly in transit enroute to a railroad museum somewhere.
