Chicago's 1911 built NorthWestern Station building. ( Gone.) Chicago Illinois USA. January 1984.

I took this photo on the Canal Street side of NorthWestern Station near West Madison Street, in January of 1984. This was the old Northwestern Station, wich would demolished during the summer of 1984. The building was replaced by a modern glass skyscraper building originally known as the Northwestern Atrium Center. After the 1998 merger and acquisition by the Union Pacific railroad, the buildings name was changed to the Richard B. Ogilvie Transportation Center after the late Illinois Govoner.

Eddie,

I think this part of the station has survived since it's behind the big blue-glassed replacement.

Hi there buddy!
Yes, You are right on that one.
The old station concourse building was indeed demolished in 1984, but for some reason or another...the elevated steam era terminal track area with these unique concrete retaining walls was saved. Interesting.

Thank You.
