One of My personal all time favorite Chicagoland winter railfan photographs I had taken, is this one I had taken in December of 2007 in North Riverside Illinois. An eastbound CN transfer train has recieved clearance from the dispatcher in Maywood Illinois, and is now proceeding eastbound alongside Commons Park in North Riverside Illinois after a heavy Chicago lake effect snowstorm. This is todays, Chicago winter railroading at it's photographic best. Commons Park alongside Des Plaines Avenue is a total Winter Wonderland on this day. This rail line, is the former Illinois Central Iowa Division Mainline acquired through merger in 1999 by the CN.Thursday, April 17, 2008
