Yet another use for that reflective yellow safety tape. The Chicago Terminal Railroad. Chicago Illinois USA. September 2007.

I took this photo near the brick office building of the Chicago Terminal Railroad near Elston and North Avenues, in Chicago's Goose Island Industrial District. Reflective striping and markings have become the industry standard from railroad equipment, transit buses, police and fire vechicles, and even pizza delivery vechicles.
Semi trailers have been required to have reflective red and silver safety tape since 2000.

The Chicago Terminal Railroad decided to use some extra yellow reflective safety tape, to mark this track bumper at this northside railroad terminal. This would be very effective during night time terminal railroad switching operations, or even in foggy or low visibillity conditions.
