Not all of the photos that appear here at Eddie's Railfan Page were taken by Myself. I bought this old 1940's era black and white photo many years ago at a railroad swap meet, or perhaps a stamp collectors flea market somewhere around the greater Chicagoland area. I believe it was during the 1980's when I did. I don't remeber where.
The huge steam locomotive shown here is from the Chesapeke & Ohio Railroad. ( Now CSX)
This is a T-1 Class 2-10-4 type locomotive used on heavy freight trains, mainly coal drags.
These lugging and bruitish locomotives, were the steam era equivalent of an EMD SD 50 today.
