I spotted this rather short looking BNSF Railway 40 foot Hi Cube box car in transit, on a westbound Canadian Pacific freight train passing through Franklin Park Illinois. For many years, Boxcars of 40 gfeet in lenght were the industry standard, as well as 50 foot simular boxcars. In recent decades, box cars of 50 -60-70-and 85 feet in lenght, have long since taken over due to changing shipping needs. It is nice to know that there is still a need for the short boxcars yet today.
