Although I was born too late to experience it firsthand, many people grew up here in North America many decades ago, and traveled between towns and citties aboard electric powered interurban railroads. Highways and Automobiles were still a little ways off in to the future during the early 1900's, and many people traveled aboard Illinois Terminal Railroad passenger accomodations in parts of Central and Southern Illinois. This example operated in regualr service until 1958 between Granite City Illinois and St. Louis Missouri. Today, it carries passengers on demonstration runs at the Illinois Railway Museum.
