The old CTA Brown line station at North Southport Avenue. Chicago Illinois USA. August 2006.
In 2006 and 2007, the Chicago Transit Authority was rebuilding and upgrading the CTA Brown line rapid transit line. This line in previous decades, was known as the Ravenswood Elevated Line. The former Ravenswood line had station platforms that could only accomodate 6 car CTA rapid transit trains instead of the standard rush hour 8 car consists. Here is the old station at North Southport Avenue in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood prior to replacemet and upgrading. It was looking very rag tag by 2006.
