I took this photo looking east from on top of the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge near West 73rd Street in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood , just about a half a mile south of Marquette Park on Chicago's southwest side. Seen here on a hot summer afternoon in August of 1987, is a westbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train heading to Clearing Yard in Bedford Park Illinois. Notice the lead EMD yard switcher still wearing the 1976 American Bi Centenial colors and markings applied by the Belt Railway of Chicago during the mid 1970's.
