Margie's Candies. Chicago Illinois. August 2006.

I took this photo one hot summer day in August of 2006.

Seen here on the southwest corner of North western Avenue and West Armitage Street, is a Chicago neighborhood treasure from decades past. This is the old fashioned 1950's era Margie's Candies, located in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood on the northside of the city of Chicago.

Neighborhood street corner Ice Cream and homemade Candy shops with lunch counters, booths and soda fountains, were once very common in Chicago and many other citties in North America. Most have disappeared over the course of time, but Margie's is still serving Banana Splits, Malts, and Ice Cream Sundaes here just like the 1950's.
Margie's even sells homemade Fudge and other candy creations here as well.
Don't expect 1950's era prices though.

Heck! They even have a small Jukebox on the table in the Booths.
