One of the enormous main driving wheels of Atchinson, Topeka & santa Fe 4-8-4 steam locomotive # 2903. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois USA
When You have a heavy load to haul, and require speed as well...Size does matter!
With drivers as tall or even taller than I am, Santa Fe # 2903 was built for speed and power. This was a dual service freight and passenger locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia Pennsylvania during World War Two times back in the 1940's. This is a really huge locomotive up close.
